A Back-To-School Prayer

This year, Father,

I want things to be different,

I want to stay home.

But seriously, I want to be a different person.

I don't want to fall into the same old rut,

Hiding in my corners

Just getting by till the next bell rings.

Help me to love people who are not easy to love.

Help me to concentrate when I just don't care.

Help me not to care so much about

what others think.

Help me to think before I speak.

Help me to speak your name at the right time

and in the right way.

And help me to do what's right

instead of what's easy.

This year, Father, help me to live like Jesus
