OUR MINISTRIES
One of the primary ways of connecting into Levittown Church of God is to serve. Our desire is to help believers discover how God has uniquely wired them with gifts, talents and passions and equip them to magnify God by serving in their church, city and world. Our hope is that we would cultivate the same attitude described in Philippians 2:3, doing “nothing from rivalry or conceit, but in humility counting others more significant than ourselves.”
As you feel led to call LCOG your church home, service will inevitably become a part of your life’s worship. We pray that, in serving here, God would mature and strengthen our gifts and create in us a servant’s heart that would permeate into all areas of our life.
CHILDREN’S CHURCH MINISTRY • Sunday 11 am
The CHILDREN’S CHURCH MINISTRY is a place where caring and committed teachers use creative methods to help children from birth through sixth grade develop a healthy understanding of God’s love for them. The excitement is filling the classrooms as the kids encounter the Word of God through creative means. All of this dynamic learning during regular service time occurs in a safe environment, thanks to the dedication of our volunteers.
We also offer a quiet room for infants to age 2. Parents are welcome to take their children to the quiet room during service. You will be able to view and hear the service from this room.
We invite both parents and children to come back and check out all that is happening. You will discover that this ministry provides exciting, challenging, and age-appropriate programs for children in a safe and stimulating environment.
FAMILY TRAINING HOUR • Wednesday 7 pm
T
here is a reason that Wednesday is called “hump” day; it’s because everyone tries desperately to get over the mid-week hump in hopes of making it to the weekend. We not only want to help people get over the “hump”, but energize them for the rest of their week. The FAMILY TRAINING HOUR serves that purpose as our mid week service here at LCOG.
We have a unique set-up for our young people each week. We split the training hour between the class room and our “gymatorium” or game room. The adults participate in lively discussions with a topical Bible study, taught by Pastor Tim in one of our classrooms.
The FAMILY TRAINING HOUR has been a part of our church for many years and will always be a part of the church’s goal to reach out to its members and community.
MEN’S MINISTRY • First Tuesday 7 pm
The men meet every month on the first Tuesday at 7 pm in the church “gymatorium”. During the summer, we meet other than the first Tuesday and the date will be posted on the calendar. We have a meal together provided by the great chefs of our church. The meal is followed by a brief devotion then we pray one for another. We attend state wide men’s events, and hope to attend local conferences. The summer months are filled with softball games every Tuesday and Thursday.
REAL LIFE Youth Ministry • Ages 13 to college
Leaders Ron and Deb Corey, along with Brianna Walker, want the main goal of REAL LIFE Youth Ministry to focus on REAL LIFE by following Jesus and being His disciple.
As teenagers grow toward and through adolescence, their mind, body and emotions change as they experience the concept of independence. REAL LIFE Youth Ministry offers direction in young people’s lives leading them to make positive choices in light of Jesus’ love and grace. The Youth Ministry strives to offer a balanced program that includes Bible study on Sunday and Wednesday, discipleship groups, prayer support, missions education and involvement, inreach/outreach visitation and recreation/special events.
Special events include: Annual Missions Trips held in conjunction with the Yardley United Methodist Church • Winterfest Youth Retreats • Lock-ins Community Service Projects.
SUNDAY SCHOOL MINISTRY • Sunday 10 am
SUNDAY SCHOOL is a place where people and families can be transformed by increasing people’s sense of belonging and commitment to their growth in Christ; providing a place for new people to make friends and learn to grow as disciples; deepening people’s understanding of God’s activity in all of life.
